We Went Back to the Life We Left Behind… But It Felt Different
After months of living aboard our sailing catamaran Big Lost in French Polynesia, we flew back to Idaho to visit family, reconnect with friends, and return to the one piece of our old life we never sold.
When we sold our home to begin our sailing adventure, we held on to a small share of a unique Idaho ranch. At the time, we'd only committed to one year of living aboard, and we had no idea whether sailing full-time would work for our family.
Now, coming back feels different.
After months of living aboard Big Lost in the South Pacific, we returned to Idaho and the life we left behind.
Coming back reminded us of everything we love about Idaho. But it also brought up feelings I hadn't expected.
