After waiting THREE years, we finally flew to Florida to survey what could become our future floating home — a 2021 Leopard 50 catamaran. This is the exact boat we first stepped on during spring break a year ago… except now it’s listed for almost $300,000 less 😳
What started as an exciting family trip quickly turned into complete travel chaos:
✈️ canceled flights
😵 almost missing our connection
🔥 Steve getting scalding hot water dumped on him mid-flight
😴 a 28-hour travel day with zero sleep
⚓ rushing straight from the airport to the boat survey and sea trial

We spent 15 years working multiple jobs, living BELOW our means, saving every penny we could and investing in real-estate. Well the year of Covid hit and we thought, what the hell let's freaking go, kids and all! The first thing Steve said when he walked onto our boat "It smells like freedom!" We completed our first year of sailing, sold our sailboat Banana Pancakes, in hopes of purchasing a newer one. We didn't find the right boat so we headed back to Idaho. It's been 2 years since then and we are once again ready to go, this time for at least 5 years. We are currently boat shopping and plan on setting sail soon for Seson 2 of Banana Pancakes.
