Sailing to the Dominican Republic episode #18

In this episode, we set sail on our 4-day passage to the Dominican Republic. Right off the bat, Kamden catches a Wahoo. It sets our excitement off for the entire trip. They catch a barracuda but we let it go.
The sail is perfect for the first couple of days. We take shifts at night, Steve ends up taking over a couple of shifts and is super tired.
On the third day, we are ecstatic when the boys hook a tuna! It's little but big enough to keep.
We then run out of water when our watermaker stops working. The engine still doesn't work as well.
Easton finally catches the anticipated Mahi Mahi! There is blood everywhere and we don't have any fresh water to clean it off. So gross!
We are all super dehydrated and exhausted.
That night during Steve's shift a squall hits. In the middle of trying to take the sails down the auto-pilot stops working. The boat turns in a circle and Steve is by himself to take it on. He calls for me but I am fast asleep.
He gets the sails down but that made for a scary experience.
The auto-pilot now doesn't work so we have to manually steer all the way to the Dominican Republic.
As we finally get to the coast line it is so beautiful. We see Wales off in the distance.
We arrive at the Puerto Bahia Marina just as the sun is going down. Steve manages to dock the boat using only one engine. We sleep for a solida night and into the next day.
