As we move north at a fairly fast pace, island-hopping from Trinidad to Grenada and then to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we pause for a longer stay in beautiful Bequia. It’s a sailor’s paradise with great vibes, and we love it here… until someone loves it too much—enough to “put down roots” with a 1:10 chain scope in a busy anchorage during peak season.
Um… yeah. No point looking for common sense here. So, we move on—to a more exposed, much rollier anchorage further away.
As our friends catch up and we get to share a dinner together, it’s time to take off again. We decide to skip St. Vincent and sail straight to St. Lucia—either Soufrière Bay or, if the favorable winds hold, all the way to Rodney Bay.

Sailing Aquarius Around The World
We are couple sailing around the world on our AMEL Super Maramu 2000 called Aquarius. We climbed career ladders, and enjoyed living in Southern California and we always loved traveling. One conversation during the dinner take a year off and go travel started shaping up. Without much of previous sailing experienced we decided to buy a boat and sail around the world, which we started in Caribbean in the beginning of 2017, and still sailing, hoping to circumnavigate the world!
