Exploring the Idyllic Islands of the Caribbean with Sailing Aquarius
In this captivating episode of Sailing Aquarius, hosts Zivile and Oliver embark on an unforgettable sailing adventure through the pristine waters of the Caribbean before the arrival of hurricane Beryl. As they navigate their way from Guadeloupe to Martinique, the duo quickly realizes the importance of maintaining their vessel’s rigging, leading them to make a stop in the picturesque St. Vincent and Grenadines.
Their journey takes an enchanting turn as they approach Tobago Cays, a gem-like cluster of tiny islands surrounded by turquoise waters. The area is known for its spectacular snorkeling spots, making it a paradise for aquatic enthusiasts.
Sailing through St. Vincent and Bequia
After a brief stay in Bequia, where they marvel at the island’s vibrant atmosphere, stunning beaches, and welcoming locals, Zivile and Oliver set their sights on Tobago Cays. These idyllic isles are teeming with lush green vegetation, azure waters teeming with marine life, and tranquil lagoons perfect for mooring their boat.
The couple’s visit to the Pythons – a horseshoe-shaped reef encompassing several smaller islands – is nothing short of mesmerizing. Their excitement at navigating through the narrow channel and the spectacular views that await them only further solidifies why these islands are considered one of the Caribbean’s hidden gems.
Unforgettable Experiences
The highlight of their stay in Tobago Cays is celebrating Zivile’s birthday with a lavish beach barbecue. The entire episode captures their enchanting experiences and appreciation for the beauty that these islands possess before they succumb to hurricane Beryl.
A Memorable Voyage
Zivile and Oliver’s journey through the Caribbean islands showcases not only the breathtaking landscapes but also the incredible community spirit found in each destination. From the vibrant market stalls of Bequia selling fresh produce, handcrafted souvenirs, and refreshing beverages to the pristine sandy beaches, lush mangroves, and exotic marine life thriving within the reefs, their voyage is a testament to the awe-inspiring wonders that the Caribbean has to offer.
The Next Stop: Canuan Island
After bidding farewell to Tobago Cays, Zivile and Oliver head towards Canuan Island, where they are welcomed by its scenic beauty. The charming Sandy Lane Marina provides a peaceful anchorage amidst the island’s unspoiled landscapes.
Caribbean Adventures Await
The Sailing Aquarius crew concludes their episode with tales of exploring Myreau Island, home to friendly dogs and an even more stunning tropical paradise. The enchanting beauty found throughout this episode of the show makes viewers eager for the next installment as Zivile and Oliver continue their incredible journey.
To those dreaming of a Caribbean getaway, Sailing Aquarius’ breathtaking adventures remind us that these islands are truly worth exploring before they potentially undergo significant changes following hurricanes such as Beryl. Experience this magnificent voyage through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean with Sailing Aquarius and witness the wonders that lie ahead in their next episode.
This video was filmed in the middle of June - before Hurricane Beryl. And I understand that now sadly most likely it looks differently… But I think it’s important to see those islands’ beauty before the disaster as all we get to see nowadays is the sad state that was left after the hurricane…
After the quick rig tune was finished in Martinique we and our friends took off straight to St Lucia and then moved on to the beautiful islands of St. Vincent and Grenadines. We fell in love with those tiny cute islands when we first visited, and we were delighted to take you there again. Please join us!
