Direct hit by Hurricane Henri; we got lucky! | Episode 33

Finally, we make our next video! Hurricane Henri!!!

In this episode Philippa and James head to the hotel after frantically calling over 30 hotels for literally ‘room at the inn’, not caring what it was like, we just needed at the final hour some shelter!

Arriving at the hotel we watch the TV which is not only a novelty as we don’t have TV, but to see the sheer context of the hurricane and what we are due to expect over the next few days.

We learn that the hurricane is predicted to go to category 1.

After not much sleep we awake to the news that the hurricane had hit the land and was heading for Sag Harbour and the main part of Long Island.

James makes the most of the ‘unusual breakfast treats’ whilst Philippa makes the most of her favourite thing, the gym!

We watch all day as the TV showed many boats being swept ashore and the tragedy that was sweeping America as there were more than a few hurricanes and storms that weekend.

The hurricane had then been declassified to a Tropical Storm, which was some relief to our desperation for Aequus’ safety

We speak to our friend Mike who being the crazy dude he is decided to not only stay on the boat but at 4am decided to leave just as the storm was about to hit! Crazy is one word!

We get a taxi back to Aequus with a wonderful driver that made the journey back relaxing and welcoming.

We assess the damage – of which apart from a messy inside the damage was none and we were so happy and so relieved.

We put Aequus back together, whilst hurricane Henri whipped its tail end around for the last time that night.
