Whale Shark Encounter
Whale shark are neither a whale nor a shark but a fish. One of the largest fish ever. They are fearcely protected in Mexico and one must give the fish space. The only proper way to swim with them is to hire a local approved guide. Do not touch! We so happened upon this one as we were leaving La Gringa and headed back to the Village. Sailing along we looked off our starboard side and there he was. We quietly changed course away from him not to alter his feeding course and we admired from afar. I wish the phone could pick up the sunlight shining off his golden spots. Just another magical moment in the Golf of California.
