We rebuilt our sailboat engine in Mexico. We thought about repowering our boat, but ultimately decided on rebuilding the Westerbeke instead of replacing it. The logistics were a major pain. Shipping sailboat engine parts to Baja California proved to be difficult. It took us 3 months from ordering engine parts to actually having it installed.
