Overnight Gulf Stream Crossing To The Bahamas | Sailboat Story 266

Crossing the Gulf Stream on a boat is an endeavor that must be taken seriously. Part of the preparation for a successful passage simply involves waiting for the right weather. We waited for over 3 weeks, and when the weather window finally arrived, we took the chance to cross the Gulf Stream. Conditions were not ideal for sailing, but the conditions were mild enough that it made sense to motor across rather than continue waiting an indefinite amount of time for the next weather window. Our passage was about 150 miles to the Berry Islands in the Bahamas, and it took 24 hours to complete.
