Leaving Our Boat After Extreme Weather Hits Spain
After three months tied up in A Coruña, we return to our boat full of hope, ready to start the sailing season early. ⛵️ But northern Spain has been hit by extreme weather, with relentless storms, strong winds, and very small weather windows.
With just one day to move, we take our chance and leave the harbour. It quickly turns into a sail with headwinds and heavy rolling. When we finally reach Camariñas, the weather catches us once again, no clear forecast, just more storms on the horizon. ⛈️
So we make a different call. We leave our boat behind and switch to van life for a few days. Not because we’re giving up on sailing, but because we’d rather explore beautiful Galicia than sit and stare at weather forecasts.
In this episode, we share life between storms both at sea and on land, as we adapt our plans and keep the adventure going. ⛰️🚐

If you're new to our channel, welcome! 🩵 We’re Linn and Erik, a Swedish couple in our late 20s who quit our jobs, rented out our apartment, and set off to sail from Stockholm to the Mediterranean together with our sausage dog. We started the journey in our unique 33 foot sailboat from 1980, which we sold in Kiel, and luckily one week after we bought a new boat, a Bavaria 37, from 2000 more suited for our adventures ahead.

The crew manages their own digital cruising guide business while documenting the technical realities of off-grid sailing, cross-border yacht upgrades, and extensive offshore passage making.
