We finally made it to the Berry Islands in the Bahamas, or did we? After sailing across the deep canyons of the Bahamas, we hid between the Stirrup Cays for safety while a powerful system raged over us for days.
It turns out that the islands we were hiding behind are privately owned and we were not allowed to step foot on them. This meant that we were trapped in the boat for the next 5 days as this system raged over us.
Johnny got cabin fever on day 4, braving the seas in our little dinghy that he took against our advice to go to shore on the next island over. The 5 mile journey took him 3.5 hours as he braved large seas in a tiny dinghy.
Once the storm had passed over, we raised anchor and sailed over to Great Harbor Cay. Here we had a grand time of snorkeling and exploring, plus meeting new friends!
