How We Set Up Our Catamaran to Sail Around The World
Over the past three years and 25,000nm, we’ve turned Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran, into a true blue water sailing boat. We figured it might be helpful to do a walk-through and highlight what features are important and what options we chose during outfitting that help us feel confident to cross oceans.
This isn’t a true Helia tour video since there are lots of those on YouTube, but hopefully you’ll get a better idea of what a well kitted cruising catamaran looks like. We covered a lot, but if you’ve got more questions, leave a comment and we’ll do our best to answer!

Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along.
