73 - A Two Day Sail to Fiji's Fulanga

Fulanga here we come! We’re sailing through the incredibly remote Lau Group in Fiji and it’s about a 140nm sail from Vanua Balavu down to Fulanga at the southern end. We could do that in an overnight sail, but instead we broke things up with a 70nm sail to Lakemba and then another 70nm sail the next day. Having daylight to help avoid islands and reefs makes things much easier on the nerves!
The winds were quite light but we still managed to get some good use out of our screecher. We also had a bit of excitement in the form of a tsunami warning (spoiler alert: it ended up being a non-event), a broken float sensor for our shower AND two massive tuna! This passage may have been short, but it had it all!

Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along.
