48 - NZ Road Trip Part 1: Waterfalls and Glow Worms
With Starry Horizons safe and sound on the hard, we traveled back to the US for the holidays, visiting friends and family. We even ran into a few celebrities! 😉
Once we returned to New Zealand, we decided that it was time to explore a country by land. We bought a car in Auckland and after checking in on our girl, set out on a 30 day road trip. This first leg was all about exploring waterfalls and glow worms. The Owharoa Falls were amazing, but the private kayak tour on McLaren Lake and seeing the thousands of glow worms in the canyon was one of the most incredible things we’ve ever done!

Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along.
