This is the big question that everyone asks….how do you manage to buy a boat and then go sailing without a “proper” land based job? How much does it cost to live aboard a sailing boat and how can you earn money or boost funds while travelling?
There is no single answer to this question but in this video, we look at how we managed to get a boat in the first place, what it roughly cost to do it up and what our monthly budget is for each category.
We also give the percentage of costs we have spent in the last year, an amount per annum that you can estimate for a family of 5.
PLEASE NOTE: YouTube have disabled comments on most of our video blogs (and on other family channels) due to safeguarding issues regarding minors on the YouTube platform. In response, we have enabled comments for these videos on our Facebook page and Patreon page and begun a monthly blogspot called: ‘FROM THE COCKPIT’ where we respond to comments questions and issues relating to travel and sailing with kids.. and live-aboard life in general.
