03 | Cruising the San Juan Islands
We have finally moved aboard our wooden boat, a 1960 Ingrid Ketch, and cast off the dock lines on an open-ended adventure, sailing north to the San Juan Islands. We enjoyed this spectacular sailing ground for six weeks as a shakedown cruise for the longer bluewater voyages we have planned. The pristine waters and easy conditions of the San Juan Islands are the perfect place to gain confidence and finish preparing the boat for the open ocean.
The dinghy is an Annabelle Skiff designed by Dave Gentry. I shortened it to 9 ft to fit on the cabin top. http://gentrycustomboats.com/Annabelle.html
