I bought a Catamaran Mould on Ebay Part 2

Cutting the Catamaran Mold: An Unconventional Purchase and Shipping Journey

After acquiring the mold on eBay with the intention of building our very own production catamaran, it was clear that there were several hurdles to overcome before the journey could even begin. The mold in question had remained unused for over a decade and required meticulous planning. ## A Challenging Commence
Given the mold’s size, I knew that drastic measures were necessary to transport it efficiently. After considering my options and weighing up all the pros and cons, it became apparent that cutting it in half was the best possible solution.

It took an incredible amount of planning and preparation over five days to complete this task. Using a grinder, I carefully cut the mold into two equal pieces, taking every precautionary measure necessary to ensure precision. The process involved framing and measuring the mold repeatedly, until eventually separating it cleanly down the middle.

With one part of the mold completed, it was time to focus on the transportation aspect. However, before any trucks or carriers could be employed, there were several logistical challenges that needed to be overcome – this is where things took a thrilling turn. ## The Adventurous Voyage
The transportation of the half mold from Queensland to the south coast of New South Wales was no ordinary feat. It involved police assistance and closures on several roads, bridges, and across various rivers.

To safely transport such a massive load required careful planning and approval by the authorities in each region along our journey. Throughout this arduous task, it became increasingly evident just how dedicated we were to this dream project.

With the support of local police forces and multiple closures placed on bridges, roads, and rivers alike, our determined team persevered through various setbacks while managing to make progress – 2,000 kilometers of treacherous yet inspiring terrain stood between us and our destination. ## A Remarkable Conclusion
Finally, after several grueling days on the road – with a police escort in tow – our catamaran mold reached its destination. The south coast of New South Wales, located three hours south of Sydney, marked an important milestone for our ambitious project.

The final leg of our journey involved unloading and reinstalling the crane back at our build site, where it remained untouched for so long. Upon closer inspection, we realized just how much work was ahead of us; repairs were necessary not only for the exterior but also within each individual piece. ## What Lies Ahead
Part three of this exciting series delves into more detailed repairs needed to bring our dream project back to life. The mold, while in poor external condition, houses the pristine inside surface that will soon produce a magnificent catamaran – perfect for cruising waters near and far.

The comprehensive build series can be found on YouTube and shared with others who have ever dreamed of owning their very own floating home. This adventure is more than just building a boat; it’s an emblematic symbol of following your heart wherever it may lead. ## Your Turn to Dream
