After 6 Years , She Roars to Life // How To Build A Catamaran To Live On Ep 325
May 30, 2024 by Life On The Hulls | Language: EN Play Time: 00:20:30 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

The anticipation builds as we attempt to start the Yanmar 4JH57 engines after an impressive 6 years of dormancy. Despite facing setbacks with a confusing ‘Auxiliary stop’ code, our dedicated team works tirelessly through a problem-solving exercise. With careful attention to every detail and the determination to overcome challenges, we discover a terminating gateway loom purchased with the engines that solves the issue.
The Start
Following initial success in starting the engines, there are still hurdles to overcome. Among these challenges is the installation of our autopilot hydraulic pump. Positioned perfectly on a newly-created shelf, the pump’s placement will provide efficient access to all hydraulic lines.
Steering Ahead
The steering system will be the next project tackled, with excitement building for this crucial element of our vessel. With the Rudders to be installed just prior to launch day, thorough testing and tweaking will ensure a successful outcome.
Navigating Challenges
This is no ordinary journey. With 80 feet of half-inch copper plumbing to bend, join and install in tight spaces, challenges are many. Fear not though – thorough explanation and planning will guide us through this process.
The Journey Continues
As the Yanmar engines come back to life, a new chapter in our marine adventure begins. Follow along as we overcome obstacles, revel in victories, and work together towards a common goal – a seaworthy vessel ready for exploration.
After installing our Brand New Yanmar Engines into our Catamaran 3 years ago, we suffer frustration and our New Yanmar Engines Won't Start. The problem solving was thorough. Will they turn over?
Our YouTube build series is all about what it takes to build a Catamaran from scratch.
