Dubrovnik - what a stunning coastal town to explore! (Sailing Dakini - Leave to Roam Ep. 76)
Kel, Helen and Pete have decided to 'jump ship' and have flown to Croatia, first stop - Dubrovnik! They find some gorgeous accommodation opposite a marina about 20mins bus ride from the old city. It is a perfect spot to explore and as you will see in the video Kel is a massive fan of the Dubrovnik Pass and the opportunity to hit up ALOT of amazing attractions.
They didn't let the stairs put them off and in three days explored everywhere. The highlights were definitely the city walls, the old back streets and the amazing view from the top of the gondola. After Dubrovnik it was into the car and heading north. No one seems to be missing Dakini yet!

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Their mission is to explore as many off the beaten track places as possible through a slow travel philosophy on a tight budget.
UPDATE!!! After a few years of saving (thanks Covid) they finally did it. They now own DAKINI, a gorgeous Lagoon 421, and are (re) learning to sail while exploring the Mediterranean.

Leave to Roam
We are Kel and Al, a couple from New Zealand and Australia who have always had a passion for travel. In January 2018 we left our full time jobs and started to travel the world. We spent two years travelling on a budget through South East Asia documenting our adventures as we went before we found a new dream, to buy a boat! Fours years of hard work scrimping and saving led us to our dream. We introduce you to our home Dakini. She is a 2010 Lagoon 421 and we love her. Purchased in Greece we started our adventure cruising the greek islands. Two years later we have sailed all over Greece, Italy, Turkey and Malta with a winter in Tunisia. Our plan for 2026 is to explore Albania, Italy, Malta, France and Spain before the biggest adventure of our lives, crossing the Atlantic around New Years. Exciting times ahead.
