This week on Escapade, we finally tackled a job we’ve known was coming.
Part of our saloon has had water damage and rotten wood for a while — and although it would have been easy to patch over it, we knew that wasn’t good enough. If we’re preparing this boat for the Pacific, we want it solid.
So we ripped it out.
What started as removing damaged wood quickly turned into the beginning of a full redesign. If we’re going to rebuild it, we might as well build it better — and make the space truly work for how we live onboard.
To do it properly, we headed to World Panel Products, where the absolute legends on the team generously allowed us to use their workshop to cut and prep our new panels. Having access to a real workspace instead of cutting everything inside the boat made a massive difference.
