The Smallest Boat in the World's Biggest Catamaran Race
I took on the world's biggest catamaran race... alone.
The Round Texel Race is a 100km challenge around the Dutch island of Texel, with more than 250 catamarans on the start line. While most competitors are sailing larger two-person boats, I was racing a Nacra 450 Mk2 solo with mainsail and spinnaker.
Could one of the smallest boats in the fleet survive 100km of racing, strong tides, changing conditions and relentless pressure from faster F18s, Tornados and foiling catamarans?
