What should you do before sailing with a brand-new set of Hobie 16 sails?
At Hilton Head, South Carolina, we’re setting up a unique new sail package created by Chris Picknally of Flying Fish Arts, representing the legendary Pool Bar Jim’s.
Before these sails can hit the water, the battens and boom need to be properly prepared and fitted. We go through the complete process—including measuring, trimming, redrilling and tying the battens into the sails.
It’s a careful job, but getting it right now should give the sails the correct shape, support and setup when we finally go sailing.
