August 08, 2018 by Joseph Bennett | Language: EN Play Time: 00:05:56 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

Part 1 – Pre Bend
Part 2 – Mast Rake
Part 3 – Rig Tension
We’re looking at how you should be bending your mast depending on your crew weight.
Here are some numbers:
Spreader Rake/deflection
Crew weight Rake
Light under140 65mm
Med 140 – 160 60mm
Heavy above 160 55mm
Diamond Wire Tension
Wind in knots Tension
less than 8 35
8 – 17 40
more than 18 45
Having said all that, if you’re sailing with a variety of different creatures weights in different winds then just put it in the middle and don’t worry about it! That’s what most people do.
