The Journey Begins

After a successful 6-hour sail, arriving in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, marks the beginning of an adventure filled with exploration, culture, and relaxation. Huub and his crew settle into their new home, a dinghy, while getting checked into the country. The addition of a car rental adds to the excitement as they embark on exploring every inch of this Caribbean island.

Discovering Pigeon Island

Their first stop is Pigeon Island, once inhabited by pirates and now boasting beautiful walks with stunning views of Rodney Bay. The journey leads them along beaches, past luxurious resorts, and over picturesque landscapes.

Climbing Pedras

Feeling energetic, they climb Gros Piton, one of St. Lucia’s famous landmarks, with only light fatigue towards the end. This is followed by relaxing at nearby beaches and exploring more local gems.

The Volcanic Hot Springs

Their visit to Sulphur Springs Park allows them a unique experience of a drive-through volcano, bathing in its therapeutic hot springs, adding a layer of ‘Warrior’ status.

Marel Estate History Tour

St. Lucia’s historical roots are revealed at the Marvell Estate, showcasing how residents lived during the 18th century with communal spaces for dining and gatherings.

Exploring Diamond Falls and Botanical Gardens

Finally, a visit to the mesmerizing Diamond Falls in the Botanical Gardens caps off their adventure in St. Lucia, with a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.

180 days I built an off-grid log cabin in the woods in Spain, then

180 days I restored an old sailboat in Guatemala, then

365 days I traveled with this sailboat from Guatemala to Honduras, Cuba, Jamaica, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Grenada and more islands in the East Caribbean
