The Devastation of Carriacou Grenada Boats after Hurricane Beryl

The Devastation of Carriacou Grenada Boats after Hurricane Beryl

In the latest episode of Huub Vlogs, the vlogger takes us on a tour of Carriacou, Grenada just days after the region was ravaged by Hurricane Beryl. What he finds will leave you in awe and mourning for the locals. Witnessing the Destruction The hurricane has done extensive damage to the boats anchored here. Boats lie overturned, roofs are missing or blown away, and the devastation seems never-ending as Huub tours various marinas. Piles of Destruction The sheer amount of debris scattered around the island is incredible. There’s overturned boats, trees that have fallen like toothpicks, and boats left sitting half-submerged in mangroves. The Community Steps Up Despite the immense destruction, you can see people are working hard to clean up and restore things. A bunch of boats from elsewhere have turned up to help, cooking and providing meals. Life in the Aftermath As Huub moves through different areas of Carriacou, he speaks with local residents. The island is running low on fresh water and electricity as they work to restore vital services. The Smiling Faces Even amid the destruction, locals here seem incredibly resilient. They’re smiling and getting on with life, a testament to their strength of spirit. The Road Ahead As the video ends, it’s clear that Carriacou will be recovering for a long time. However, the local community has banded together and is doing everything in its power to help each other through this difficult time.
