We Sailed to Our DREAM DESTINATION!⛵️🏝️

Continuing the Adventure: Exploring the Remote Islands of the South Pacific with Holly & Ray

Embark on a captivating journey with sailing enthusiasts Holly and Ray, as they continue their epic circumnavigation by reaching their dream destination in the remote islands of the South Pacific. Alongside their supportive community of friends and fellow cruisers, they delve deep into island life, exploring the beautiful landscapes and vibrant cultures that define these extraordinary locales.

Fishing Expeditions and Island Getaways

The couple’s journey to their dream destination wouldn’t be complete without the thrill of an epic fishing expedition with friends. With local villagers inviting them for a beach day, they partake in various activities such as learning to harvest giant clams and engaging in cultural dances. Their warm encounters with locals leave lasting impressions and memories.

Dining on Island Specialties

As guests of the island, Holly and Ray savor in a delightful dinner at their home. With an inventive culinary experience, they highlight the luxurious treat – canned duck confit from French supermarkets. The dish comes to life with crispy skin-on pieces that add a delectable twist to their meals.

Sustainable Living in Remote Islands

Amidst their exciting escapades, the duo focuses on practical aspects of living in remote locations. With solar panels to power their water maker and a keen eye for monitoring their generator systems, they ensure that every detail is well-taken care of.

The Gentle Giants of the Sea

As they venture into the waters surrounding their dream destination, Holly and Ray encounter the awe-inspiring manta rays. Known as
This week, we spent some quality time with the locals learning how to harvest giant clams, weave hats out of palm fronds, dance, and play the ukulele. 🏝️ We hosted friends for dinner, watched a fantastic sunset, and then made the best of a windy morning by running the watermaker and working on a new monitoring screen. 💻 The goal is to know when something is wrong with our watermaker and/or our generator before an alarm sounds or the systems shut down completely. We are always on a quest to perfect our preventative maintenance skills! That afternoon, we spotted four manta rays swimming right next to our boat. Despite the high winds, we couldn’t resist the urge to get in and swim with them.🤿 We had an incredible experience watching these gentle giants twirl through the water so close to us! 😍
