Expectation Vs Reality – Sailing Across The Pacific Ocean

Last week you watched us finish our 27-day sale from Panama to French Polynesia. This week, join us for a much shorter sale here in the Marquesas before we sit down to chat about the expectation versus reality of our Pacific Crossing. I’m Holly, that’s Ray, and this is our home Sabo. Together, we’ve sailed the East Coast of the United States, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean and now we’ve begun the next leg of our circumnavigation: the Pacific.

Are you surprised to see us sailing again already? This is what we’re here for. No, it’s been a few days since we picked up a camera; we’ve just been sleeping, honestly. We cleared customs and immigration and now we are headed out in search of a calmer anchorage and hopefully one where we can make water because the last one not so much.

Join us for a short sail in the Marquesas Islands before sitting down to chat about the expectation vs. reality of our 27-day sail across the Pacific Ocean. 🐬 In this video, we discuss what went well and what we should’ve done differently to maximize our comfort and performance during our passage. We also talk about the changes this trip inspired us to make to our boat in the future! Stick around until the end to see a local visitor stop by- Holly’s favorite animal, a manta ray! 😍Thank you to our patrons for sending in these questions. 📝
