Portuguese Fried Rice - Turtle Galley Recipes

I’m a simple girl. I see rice on the menu, I order rice. I saw Portuguese fried rice on the menu for breakfast at a diner in Portland and I ordered it and went home and started to re-create it. After many many failed recipes, I found the same flavor finally and it has become a staple in our family since then. Since we’ve been sailing, it has become a staple meal whenever we can get hands on the ingredients. We don’t claim this to be a super authentic dish, just something we ate once, figured out on our own and then think you will absolutely love. Please enjoy!

Portuguese Fried Rice Recipe (Details in the Video)

Main Ingredients:
1.5 Cup Day of rice
1 Medium Onion
1 Tomato
1 Linguica sausage
1 cup frozen green peas

Base Spices:
1/2 Tablespoon Salt
1/2 Tablespoon Pepper
2 Packets of Sazon Seasoning
2 Teaspoons of Cayenne
2 Teaspoons of MSG

Basic Steps:
1. Sauté Onions until half way translucent
2. Add Linguica and cook until oils come out
3. Add vegetables and spices and continue cooking
4. Add rice
5. Stir and cook until done. Taste for spice adjustments.
