We NEVER Expected To Start Sailing Full Time Like This

We’ve been sailing with full time jobs for nearly 2 years, preparing for the day when we could cast off the corporate life lines and start just sailing full time instead. Well. That day has arrived, and it’s a little bit sooner than we were expecting.

Yesterday we got some news that we never really expected to hear – Charles’ company was restructuring and his position was being eliminated. It’s a risk you take when you work at a VC backed startup – but it’s still surprising when it happens, and that has thrown a wrench into everything. We were always planning on going sailing full time once Charles’ job was over – but we were expecting that to be at least 6 months from now. All of that means our cruising kitty is nowhere near what we expected it to be and we’re taking a new look at how YouTube can supplement that.

But at least for the next 3 months – we are in the Bahamas without having to worry about the logistics of staying employed! So we created a “Bahamas Bucket List” – 100 things we want to do in the next 100 days before heading back to the States. And what better way to get started than Thunderball Grotto and Pig Beach at Staniel Cay?

Want more?! How about a little FAQ
❓Why Folsom Ocean Views?!
⚓️Because Folsom is Charles’ last name and it’s a play on the Johnny Cash Lyric “Folsom Prison Blues”.
❓Why a #Catamaran?
⚓️Jes gets really seasick while #sailing and the upstairs galley really helps when we #travel.
❓You both work full time jobs?
⚓️Yup. Charles has a traditional 9-5 position as the Director of Customer Success and Jes owns her own business doing art commissions for clients. #WorkingandSailing
❓Where to Next?
⚓️We are not sure. Part of the fun of this #DigitalNomad #lifesytle is that you can pick your #adventures
