What's Scary About Indonesia? | Bima, Sumbawa | Sailing and Travel Ep 357

Bima is the largest town on the island of Sumbawa, a place we were warned NOT to visit by a sailing friend of ours. He said “Sumbawa is lawless and helpless”. The Indonesia Cruising Guide isn’t much more positive, warning, “Bima is the largest city in Sumbawa. The port is muddy and the city not much better.”

We went anyway.

Maybe the greatest advantage of travelling by sailboat is encountering some of the nicest people in some of the least-likely places.
