Sailing to Indonesia for the pristine, white, sandy beaches, coral reefs and tropical fish, and to anchor in blue lagoons, azure seas and crystal clear water. This is what it means to be in a liveaboard sailboat, isn’t it? Not necessarily! We’re cruising on a sailboat and travelling across oceans to meet new people and try new experiences…like being burned in the name of homespun medicine in a wooden hut over the sea…

Before saying goodbye to our dear, new friends and hello to the deserted islands, Liz volunteered to try a local health remedy purported to improve circulation. We never found out what the evil white powder was, but it bloody burned, and it made Liz’s face turn bright pink!

Beware of local cures in remote Indonesia!
