OUR NEW TRAILER… We are Jamie and Liz and we are telling our story with video. The adventure began in 2005 when we swapped the rat-race for an alternative lifestyle…living on a boat. So far we have sailed over 25,000 miles across seas from Turkey to Thailand, through pirates, storms and coral reefs. And we picked up another crew member along the way, Millie-the-cat.

Every two weeks we produce the next chapter of our followtheboat adventure on video. Yes, there are palm-tree days and the wind can be kind, but we’re not afraid to let you see what happens when it all goes wrong.

What is Patreon?
Patreon is the place to help the creators and artists you cherish: musicians, poets, cartoonists and vloggers like us. Patrons pledge a sum of money per video (from as little as $2), and Patreon collects the fee each month. Don’t worry, you set a monthly maximum and you can cancel any time, so you remain in control. The boffins at Patreon do all the back-room stuff to ensure that your pledge is processed properly. Everything is in dollars because this is a US site, but international currencies work too.

And, by the way, we promise we’ll only upload two videos a month, so you won’t pass out when you receive your bank statement.

What are the benefits?
When you become our patron, we give you freebies like postcards, photos, calendars, followbacks on social media and even Esper T shirts.

When we are supported by you, we use your pledges to improve our output with better equipment and more challenging content.

We also have milestone goals, which are really just another way for us to give you more rewards! When we reach them we’ll do something crazy like send everyone a limited edition T Shirt, or upload a private video of out-takes and bloopers, and even invite you on Esper for a week. We love working on new ways to say a BIG THANK YOU!

Can’t afford to pledge? Don’t worry! Every comment, subscription, like and view makes us smile. And you will still be able to watch the story unfold on our YouTube channel, because followtheboat content will always remain free!

Busted Bridge. Broken Lock. 🫣 | Stuck on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal | Boat Life Ep 415

Between us and the River Trent is a 100-year-old railway swing bridge and a 224-year-old lock. If there is a mechanical failure at either of these venerable structures, we'll have to wait. If they both break down, we could end up being stuck between the tw...

Do We Miss Sailing? | One Year Living on a Canal Boat | Casting Off Ep 064

It’s been exactly a year since we swapped our sailing boat for a widebeam canal boat, after nearly 20 years living afloat. How has it been — and do we have any regrets? Before reflecting on our first 12 months aboard Happidaze, we take a quick look at...
