We sailed in for a night and stayed for a week! The only difference between this pristine tropical island and a boat is that it’s permanently anchored. And it has trees. And monitor lizards. But let’s not get too picky about it…
Pulau Macan (aka ‘Tiger Island’) is a two hour hop from Jakarta, so it’s easily accessible for most of us, not just cruisers. And yet hardly anyone outside Indonesia knows about the Seribu Archipelago (aka ‘Thousand Islands’). If you want peace and serenity in a tiny hideaway we’d recommend this as the ultimate feel-good escape.
Slip into the sea straight from the deck onto sand, coral and mangrove trees. If you’re lucky you’ll swim with a turtle and watch rays glide by, just like we do on our boat.
