The Mentawais are reckoned to have some of the best surfing in the world. With the spectacular Indian Ocean bowling waves at the beaches for thousands of miles, there are hundreds of breaks to choose from.
And there’s plenty of action going on at the epicentre of this surfing haven around Kandui Resort, even at the beginning of the season. We stayed for a couple of days and soaked up the vibe. If we’d stayed any longer Jamie would have been out there wiping out with the best of them!
