A Night Under Sail for the First Time in a While
For the first time in quite some time, Sam and Jamie experience the thrill of night sailing. With tired minds and bodies being tossed around by waves, they must adapt to the unfamiliar darkness as their vessel cuts through the water beneath a magnificent full moon.
Sailing Through the Java Sea
Having left the protection of Bedang behind, Sam and Jamie make the long jump northwards to reach Banan. As they navigate the Java Sea, they must rely on their skills and the strength of the winds to propel them towards their destination.
Banan Island: A Remote Volcanic Haven
After an overnighter sailing session, Sam and Jamie find themselves off the shores of Banan. This remote island, located in the heart of the Java Sea between Java, Banab, Bellaton, and C Manan to the north, provides a stunning volcanic landscape devoid of human development. Its rugged beauty makes it the perfect haven for adventurers like Sam and Jamie.
Cultural Exploration on Ban Tan Island
As they prepare for a longer stay in their new location, Sam and Jamie find themselves amidst a bustling local Sunday tradition. Motorbikes buzz around them, leading to their discovery that the island sees very little tourism and is primarily a hub for commercial shipping.
A Quick Visit to the Local Market
Determined to explore more of Ban Tan, Sam and Jamie visit the local market, where they are greeted by friendly locals and treated with warm hospitality. They learn about the island’s thriving container business and make plans to return for a closer look.
As their journey continues through the Java Sea, Sam and Jamie showcase their resilience in the face of challenging conditions, their appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds them, and their ability to adapt to new environments.
