1200 Miles from Bali to Malaysia (Real-time update) | Sailing Podcast 052

Sailing Podcast Real-Time Updates

In this week’s podcast, Liz and Jamie are doing something a little bit different. Instead of discussing events that happened months ago, they decided to record while sailing 1,200 miles from Bali to Malaysia.

Why Record Live?

Liz and Jamie have been wanting to do a podcast like this for ages. This format reminds them of when they first started their series of podcasts 15 years ago in the Red Sea.

Update on Vlogs

If you’ve been keeping up with Followtheboat’s vlogs, they have quite a few episodes left to cover before catching up to their current location. However, in the future, Liz and Jamie plan on producing more documentary-style content rather than just vlogs.

Why Delayed?

The delay in this journey is due to several reasons. Firstly, there were mechanical problems that needed fixing. Secondly, they had to wait for the proper season to sail.

Thirdly, obtaining the necessary visas also played a part in their delay. This sailing podcast offers a real-time update on what has been an exciting journey for Liz and Jamie.

The Journey So Far

While navigating through the western coast of Lombok, they’ve faced various challenges. However, with their trusty boat Scrubby by their side, Liz and Jamie are more excited than ever for this next adventure.

Next Stops

Once they reach Barley, Liz and Jamie plan on visiting a couple of anchorages. They also look forward to exploring some little-known islands in the Java Sea that have never been visited before.

After leaving behind these beautiful destinations, their next significant stop will be in Belawan, which is around 200 nautical miles away.

An Adventure Like No Other

This real-time update podcast allows listeners to share in the excitement and anticipation of what lies ahead for Liz and Jamie. With so many unknowns on this journey, one thing is certain – it won’t be boring!

Stay tuned for more updates as they continue their sailing adventure from Bali to Malaysia. Follow along and see how their journey unfolds.

We've started our 1200 mile passage from Lombok to Malaysia, and are so excited to be back sailing again! This is a live real-time update from the cockpit (and deck!) of SY Esper. We hope to do more of these as we make progress along this interesting voyage.
