Welcome back to Finding Our Isla.
In Season 1, Episode 6, we leave Bequia and continue our sail north toward the breathtaking Pitons.
Along the way, we continue battling the powerful Caribbean Christmas Winds while dealing with more boat repairs at sea. With calmer water along the coast of Saint Vincent, Kasey and Ashton work to repair and reinforce our damaged genoa cars before the problem gets worse.
But while we’re managing rough conditions and repairs onboard, the boys’ health continues to decline.
What we first believed was severe seasickness turns into something far more serious as high fevers, exhaustion, and intense body aches take over. After hearing reports of outbreaks spreading through the islands, we realize the boys had most likely contracted dengue fever.
This episode captures the reality of life at sea — balancing fear, parenting, repairs, and the incredible beauty that still surrounds us through it all.
From dramatic Caribbean sailing conditions to the unforgettable beauty of the Pitons and some of our favorite snorkeling yet, this chapter of the journey challenged us in ways we never expected.
⚓ Thanks for being part of our adventure.
