The day before our Atlantic crossing didn’t go as planned.
With the clock ticking, we tried to finish the last repairs, pick up old receipts for the engine rebuild, provision for a month at sea, deal with a surprise dog issue, and get the boat ready for departure. It was supposed to be simple. It wasn’t.
In this pre-departure episode Day Minus 1, we bring the boat back to life after dock life, reunite with the crew, and try to turn a long list of problems into a boat capable of crossing an ocean. From chasing paperwork around Las Palmas to finding out our VHF doesn’t work, it’s a full day of scrambling before the calm we hope to find offshore.
