Life Aboard Mid-Atlantic Before the Seas Turn Rough - Day 6
Six days into our Atlantic crossing, the ocean is finally starting to show its teeth.
The crew is back together—Brett, Ayanna, Jade, Dingo, and Penny—and we’re settling into the long middle stretch of life at sea. Days blur together with watches, editing, cooking, small routines, and the constant motion of the boat. At night, the water glows with bioluminescence. Behind us, the stars are coming back as we move farther from Saharan dust drifting off Africa.
But conditions are changing.
The wind has built past 20 knots, speeds are climbing, and forecasts show larger seas ahead—15 feet and beyond. With the boat starting to roll more aggressively, this will likely be our last video for a short while as we shift focus fully to sailing and safety.
If uploads pause, everything is okay. We’ll continue sharing updates through our PredictWind tracker (linked below), and we have a full safety team monitoring our progress. As soon as the seas settle, we’ll get the videos out.
