Adventurous Journey Across The North Sea Mid-Winter
In early January, I embarked on an audacious solo voyage across the treacherous waters of the North Sea to attend the much-awaited annual Opa Viking Festival in Shetland. It’s been 3 years since my last visit to this enchanting festival that takes place every last Tuesday in January. Curiosity and the call of adventure beckoned me as I pored over weather forecasts, much against all logic. A minuscule 40-hour weather window emerged – just enough to traverse the 200 nautical miles before a massive storm struck the islands. {Get 4 months extra on a 2 year plan here: https://nordvpn.com/erikaanderaa - It's risk-free with Nord's 30-day money-back guarantee!
29th of January I set sail across the feared North Sea. And to do it wintertime does not make it any better. I was about to find that out the hard way.
Join me on this first episode, across this brutal ocean as I planned to attend the incredible Up Helly Aa Vikingfestival!
Enjoy :)
