The Bluetti AC200L Expandable Power Station on our Sailboat!
Welcome to another exciting episode of Paragon’s Favorite Stuff, where we showcase all the incredible gear we love to have aboard our 42ft sailboat, Paragon. Today, I’ll be introducing you to our new high-capacity, state-of-the-art lithium-ion phosphate power station from Bluetti, the AC200L, and we’re going to put it through its paces in a grueling off-grid test!
Thank You Bluetti
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bluetti for sending us one of their latest model power stations so that we could test its capabilities and showcase it in this video.
The Extreme Off-Grid Test
In this episode, I’ll tell you all about the Bluetti AC200L and then we’re going to put it through an extreme off-grid challenge. We’ll attempt to use its stored energy to power two 2400W induction cooktops and a 2,000W electric water boiler to make one of my favorite meals right here at anchor, completely off the grid.
Location Details
We are located in the South Coast of England, in the Hord River, anchored up and facing some pretty windy conditions today, with gusts up to 25 knots.
The Test Setup
Our setup will consist of the Bluetti AC200L power station, two 2400W induction cooktops, and a 2,000W electric water kettle. We’ll use the iPhone app to monitor the power usage in real-time.
The Results
After a successful test, we managed to cook an entire meal using only the power stored in the Bluetti AC200L. It truly performed exceptionally well, showing just how powerful and reliable this lithium-ion phosphate battery is.
Solar Panel Charging
In the next part of our adventure, we’re going to charge the AC200L using just our solar panels. We’ve connected six of our 13 panels directly to the power station and will see how quickly it can be charged under sunny skies.
Charging Results
The results were truly impressive, as we managed to charge the Bluetti AC200L up to 100% in just under an hour using solar power alone. This showcases not only the exceptional performance of the Bluetti power station but also how well our solar panels are functioning.
The Future
Because of its amazing capabilities, we’ve decided to permanently keep the Bluetti AC200L aboard Paragon for all our off-grid adventures in the future. Its durability and performance are unrivaled.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Bluetti AC200L has exceeded our expectations in every way. It handled our extreme off-grid test with ease and charged quickly under sunny skies using our solar panels. This power station is an indispensable part of our sailing lifestyle now.
