This time on Distant Shores we have something a little different for you – a behind-the-scenes look at the design process taking place for the new Enksail Orion 54 aluminum sailboat, the big sister to our Orion 49. If you are interested in boat building and boat design, we share a recent video conference we had with Ronald van Enkhuizen, the general manager of Enksail Yachts, where we discuss how the design of the 54 is taking shape, go over early design drawings and make suggestions based on our experience sailing over 17,000 nm on the Orion 49. To illustrate our recommendations, we show video clips that relate to topics in the discussion that we filmed on location on our current Atlantic circuit. After watching the video, we encourage you to give your input and make suggestions too.
