What’s it like to deal with a hurricane on a boat? In 1996 we took a direct hit from Hurricane Bertha, a category 2 hurricane, aboard our Classic 37 sailboat in Northwest Creek Marina. This was in New Bern, North Carolina, where there was much destruction. We filmed the whole experience, including our preparations, the passing of the storm and the aftermath, which we included in our instructional DVD, Cruising the Bahamas, since we were on our way north from the Bahamas to the Chesapeake Bay. This video is an excerpt.
