Ep196. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, we continue our Transatlantic sailing voyage on the 50′ (Xquisite X5) Catamaran. We leave Walvis Bay Namibia on our way to St. Helena Island in the middle of the South Atlantic. We are visited by dolphins. We deal with high winds and confused seas that put me out of commission for a day with severe seasickness.
I learn I can get seasick (which I never have before) but I learn that you can fight through it and after a couple of days you can ger your “Sea Legs” and after that no matter how the boat was thrown around, I never felt sick again. This was a good lesson to learn because when I was first violently seasick, I had serious doubts about this whole idea of living on a Catamaran and sailing the world full time.
