PART 1. LITHIUM BATTERY INSTALLATION FOR IMPI

In this series we are doing something different, and mostly because our followers on You Tube have requested us to do so on a number of occasions, so – we are going to look at the technical side of Impi, and in our first instance our recent installation of Lithium batteries, some options other than lithium batteries and more.
Now folks, please know first and foremost that I am not an electrician – I have merely had to help myself along the way due to the remote destinations we sail in.
Well here in Australia we discovered the talent to assist us to switch from AGM to Lithium.
I have to ask you to watch the video as one ordinary sailor to the next and to be tolerant of my electrical terminology, or lack thereof.
We hope this series will be basic enough to share what we have done on Impi, the considerations that went into our system and also our various charging systems and how they feature within the system.
To all our Facebook followers who asked for this – well – we hope not to disappoint and you are free and welcome to ask the questions … well … perhaps you would get great answers here, on Facebook or I would do the research for you.

Folks, we are not trying to fund the drone for ourselves. We have followers here who took on the initiative because they would like to see footage of the beautiful islands Impi visits – well – it’s extra work for us but ultimately we do want to bring you the maximum and most honest experience we can. Ana and I will probably fund the short fall for the drone anyhow since we can see the effort our followers are going to, but it would be nice to have those funds available for other projects such as ‘Help us to help others’ and so forth. All it takes is a ‘SMALL’ contribution from many people – like $1 or $2 is terrific if we have the numbers of people contributing.
Also, the funding does not come to an account in our name – it goes to the specific fund set up by Cyrille. If there is any surplus in the fund, we will ask Cyrille to place that with gear to bring better footage for your viewing pleasure.
