Impi is sailing around the world and here in New Zealand now we have covered ¾ of the globe. Kawau Island here in New Zealand is one of many fantastic islands off the New Zealand Coast line – situated in Hauraki Bay, Kawau Island is vibrant, has a community of sailors sharing their knowledge with young folks wanting to learn to sail through ‘sail training camps’, houses the oldest industrial site in New Zealand, Sir George Grey’s historical Mansion House and so much more history. This is a must see island for cruisers passing through New Zealand. One will have to forgive me for sharing a party celebrating Ana’s birthday at the end of the video – we realise this is not part of Kawau Island but serves as a terrific memory for us going forward.

The sea makes us feel free, so we followed the dream to move home from our farm in South Africa to a sailing vessel, a catamaran we call IMPI - and IMPI has been our floating home covering much of the globe over the past 10 years sailing full time.
