We sail from Deshaies on Guadeloupe to Little Bay on Montserrat, where we tour towards the volcano with local guide Joe Phillip.
Greatcircle will be sold in 2020 www.wehmeyer.nl
We sail from Montserrat to the west coast of Antigua and circle around the island anchoring in Deep Bay, English Harbour and Green Island.
Greatcircle will be sold in 2020 www.wehmeyer.nl
From the beautiful east coast of Antigua we leave the island through the northern reef towards Barbuda, supposedly a Bahama style island with long white sandy beaches and very very blue waters.
2017 Lagoon 52S owners version Greatcircle is for sale as our...
The next island is Saint Barth, as the weather forces us to postpone visiting St. Eustatius, Saba and/or St Kitts. Very different, the posh Swedish/French island compared to the turquoise water and white beach paradise of Barbuda

Bad news from Scilla as our friend ended up in the hospital in Sint Maarten. We head over there from Saint Barth together with Idéfix.
The Dutch part of the island seems to be quite ok after the hurricane, we'll be back in the first week of March to take...
What was planned as a round trip Sint Maarten - Saint Kitts - Statia - Saba - Sint Maarten became a return trip Sint Maarten - Saint Kitts as our outboard decides to stop just before we head out to open sea.
Can't use the dinghy because there is water in the fuel (and in the outboard itself in the meantime), and it's still blowing 25 - 30 knots most of the time. So we decide to skip Statia and Saba for the moment and return back to Sint Maarten earlier than pl...
We're invited on SY Eight to participate in the Sint Maarten Heineken regatta. Spoiler alert : we didn't win, but the boat is still in one piece. This episode covers the first day of the regatta, in the next one we go around the island.
Walter & Christine join us on Greatcircle as we cross the 80 miles between Sint Maarten and the British Virgin Islands. A lot of Caribbean islands are starting to close their borders, we might have to stay here for a while.
While the net of closing countries around us tightens we're sailing in the same area as on our first sailing trip together, 22 years ago, but now on our own boat.
Maybe naieve but we hadn't expected a center of tourism like the BVI would just send boats away without knowing where to go. All countries around us are closed in the meantime, and people living in isolation on their boat should be the least of the worries...
In hindsight we will be able to judge what was the best response to the corona version. In the BVI they seem to have succeeded in keeping the number of initial cases very limited. The downside of course is the 24/7 full lockdown where we aren't even able t...
We're sailing back from the BVI to Holland, via the Acores. Crossing the Atlantic west to east seems to be quite a bit different compared to the one and only ocean crossing we did so far with the ARC last November.
Luckily Tina joins us on this trip on he...
As soon as we decide to head straight to Horta the forecast changes and we get a bit more waves and wind in our direction than we bargained for.
Especially during night time when you end up in conditions you weren't in before (pretty high waves coming fro...
You would almost start to like being in lockdown. After our very blue lockdown in the North Sound of the BVI we sailed for 2 weeks just to end up in another lockdown on the Azores.
As in the BVI we are not allowed to leave the boat at all, but still there...
After a new lockdown in Horta, Açores we find a nice weather window to head towards the European continent.
It turns out to be a smooth ride as we manage to stay ahead of the next significant storm heading our way from the Bahama’s
After crossing the Atlantic with us from the BVI to Amsterdam, Tina follows us along to a couple of lakes south of Amsterdam before she flies with Sander to Goteborg.
Tina has just started her own YouTube channel : help her to a flying start by a like an...
It's decided! 2 days after we returned from our trip through France we reached an agreement with Outremer regarding the new Greatcircle, an Outremer 55.
Luckily we didn't have any surprises out of the buyers survey, so 1 week later we handed over the curr...
Marijke got second thoughts about the rotating mast so we decide to dive in a little deeper to find out whether or not it's worth the additional investment and added complexity for our situation.
In the meantime we dusted off our Rival 34 from 1979 to prep...
Short in between episode as we fly to Portugal and meet Seaheroes Ronald & Fleur on their L42. In the coming weeks we will go sailing on the Rival 34 again and attend the Outremer week in La Grande Motte, where we will be able to have a look at the bui...
In this episode we sail on the Rival from Loosdrecht over the river Vecht to Muiden and continue over the southern IJsselmeer towards Enkhuizen where we meet our former cat.
We have a quiet night in Enkhuizen, safely moored to the former Greatcircle. Lovely weather but not too much wind, as we continue to Hoorn and Volendam before heading back to Muiden.
We've rented a studio in the center of La Grande Motte to be close to the production of our Outremer 55 hull#4. Of course we go over as much as we can, but this week there were a lot of seminars in the yearly Outremer week as well.
Marijke postponed her in-port training with the 4X until the last they of Outremer Week 2020 when there would be a lot more wind. Good to sea that we still have plenty to learn.
Something AWESOME is coming!
