We rescued Lola 10 months ago in the Dominican Republic.

But we haven’t been sailing once in all that time, so this was our first chance to get Lola out on the water!!

And meet up with some really cool peeps who have a boat pup of their own…

Despite the added challenge of living a nomadic lifestyle with a puppy, she is the LIGHT of OUR LIVES, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
(and I’m pretty sure she’s stoked about it too)

Ps. You have to check out Knot Vanilla’s YouTube. They are just getting started with the boat and the channel, but these guys are the real deal and a blast to hang out with.

No Water, No Stove… I’m Starting to Crack

We leave the Gulf of Aden behind, riding powerful following seas north along the coast of Oman—pushed hard by some of the strongest sustained winds we’ve faced yet. It should feel like a gift… but we’re not exactly in fighting shape. Our water make...

Past Bab el-Mandeb | 30 Knots in the Gulf of Aden

Past Bab el-Mandeb, the wind finally arrived. After days of preparation in Djibouti — cleaning the boat, servicing the engines, and loading 900 liters of fuel in jerry cans — we set off toward one of the most notorious passages in the world: the Gulf o...
