This is what we call a sweet barn find. Purchased just over a year ago by a fellow sailor who had big dreams for her, this 1966 Pearson Wanderer (Hull #22) is now sadly for sale after the owner’s unexpected passing. She’s looking for her next caretaker.
Professionally maintained and stored at Atlantic Boat in Brooklin, Maine since 2011 and up until a year ago, this Bill Shaw-designed classic is in remarkably good shape—and offered at just $6,500.

I was impressed. Canadian Ken would have been too. The boat is solid, simple, and refreshingly original—with thoughtful upgrades and a bulletproof diesel that make her ready to cruise.
Highlights include:
Yanmar 2GM20F diesel (fresh water cooled, installed in 2000) – only ~400 hours
- New prop & shaft at install
- Loose-footed, fully battened main (2006) – still looks new
- Roller furling jib (2004) – excellent condition
- New dodger (2020)
- Custom teak & Lexan forward hatch – replaces the original fiberglass one
- Garmin chartplotter, digital depth sounder, VHF, Danforth Corsair compass
- Teak saloon table and doors (replacing Formica originals)
- Origo alcohol stove – safe, simple, reliable
- Modified V-berth with removable bridge panel—great for kids or couples
- New rudder ~10 years ago
She’s a sturdy, full-keel/centerboard cruiser with classic lines and a low-maintenance attitude. The kind of boat that doesn’t just float—it endures.
