11:08 Final Thoughts on the Com-Pac 17 Sun Cat

Canadian Ken and I stumbled across a 2008 Com-Pac 17-2 Sun Cat sitting pretty in a driveway in Yarmouth, Maine — and this little pocket cruiser checks A LOT of boxes. At just 17 feet, the Com-Pac Sun Cat is a roomy daysailer that doubles as a cozy overnighter. With her classic catboat lines, quick rigging system, and trailerable design, she removes some of the biggest roadblocks to sailing: no slip, no mooring, no problem! Keep her at home, launch at the public ramp, and be sailing in under 10 minutes.Boat Details:
2008 Com-Pac 17-2 Sun Cat
Magic Tilt trailer
6 hp Nissan outboard
Two bunks + portable marine head
Green bimini + matching sail cover
Easy mast-raising system (single-handed) - aka Mastendr
Stable, fun, family-friendly — great for kids
Extras included:
• 2018 North Atlantic Inflatables 7’6” dinghy
• Newport Vessels electric trolling motor

This is a great starter sailboat or downsizer’s dream: affordable, simple to rig, safe, and a breeze to tow and launch. If you’ve been waiting for a boat that fits in your driveway (instead of draining your bank account at the marina) — this is it.
